My Nonno was a soldier in the Italian Army sometime before the second World War. He was a young man of about 17 stationed in Somalia, where he was in charge of teaching the locals Morse code. Nonno loved the foreign land, with all its exotic landscapes and animals. He loved it so much so, that when the opportunity presented itself, he purchased a pet cheetah. It was a friendly animals, not wild and ferocious like its cousin the lion. Nonno's cheetah seemed as if it was a large domestic housecat. However, as tame as the cat may have been, the creature did not realize it's own size and strength. When playing with the neighbors poodle one day, the Cheetah played too rough and fatally injured the poor dog. Seeking revenge for the death of their beloved pet, the neighbor posioned Nonno's cheetah.
